26 July, Bagnow
Drove down to the village in weasel
in the morning to pick up Dr. Oatkeson.
She visited at ARL in the morning and
had lunch with Enqith Slegrup. In
the afternoon we went out on the tender
toward the gas well and around the
Voth area, finally cutting across the
tendue back to the village. We arrived
back at the hotel about 1500.
27 July
Bagnow - Pitt Point
Left Bagnow at 0845 via Interior
Cernia 180 wheel plane for POCW1
(Pitt Point). We stopped at POCWA
(Cafe Simpson) at 0915 and went off
again at 0920. Passed over the western
d end of Teshekpuk Lake at 0940 heading
NIE toward the coast. Arrived at POCW1
at 0950. Mr. Bill Sheque, the station
chief, was asleep - day off, so I was not
able to see him at once. I was given
a bed in a canvas-covered ground
with some of the workers. Between 1030
and 1200, I walked out to the end of the
road to the water shack and look looking
for owls and geese. Henceforth in these
notes, this road is referred to as "the short
road" to distinguish it from "the long
