General Account
17 July
Point Lay - Barrow
Left the Point Lay site at 1125. Stopped
at Liz B (Day Cafe) at 1150. Off again
at 1158 and down at Barrow at 1246.
At Day Cafe I saw no jaegers or
crebs while we were landing, on the
ground, and taking off. Landing and
taking off give a good opportunity for
looking over the immediate vicinity of
the sites.
-23 July
Barrow
Working in and out of the lab -
mostly processing Eskimo caught lemmings
from Wainwright, Barrow and Pitt Point.
Also working with the five gyrfalcons -
getting some temperature records.
4 July
Barrow
Col. Walter A. Wood and Sir Herbert
Wilkins and a Ms. Sullivan of the
New York Times visited in our lab
today. Wood and Sullivan took
some pictures of the gyrfalcons.
5 July
Barrow
Met Dr. Barbara Blanchard
Oakeson, as she came in on the Wien
Commercial tour flight at 1230. She
plans to be at Barrow until Sunday and
will visit at the lab tomorrow.
