General Account
16 June, Barrow, Alaska
Spent the entire day processing
specimens from Wainwright.
Four Pinnocine Juegers and a set of
2 fresh eggs came in from Cape Hallett.
They were taken by C. Nolan and were
accompanied by a note saying more were
on the way!
17 June, Barrow - Unalakleet, Alaska.
Got my gear and food together in the morning,
and left Barrow on the regular flight
at 1240. Arrived at Unalakleet ca 1400. Dusty
Tuledean met me at the plane and lead
the ARL weasel cell ready to go except for
installing batteries which I brought down
from Barrow. The weasel is in fine running
order.
Spent the rest of the afternoon unpacking
and getting the gear/net left in shape.
Went out in the evening with the
weasel to look over the ground and to ex-
amine some of the transects.
Weather and Phenology: spring day
when I arrived but began clouding over
in the evening. Dusty says it has been
dry, warm and clear all spring. There has
been no rain, and it was a mild winter. The
ice on the river went out on 15 May!
