We left Lockheart with a message for Nap
Brewer and went up to the village to the school
home, where our gear had already been hauled
up by sled and dog-team. We greeted Mr. and
Mrs. Crawford, and were taken to our quarters.
While we were eating a late dinner, Mr.
Crawford came up to tell us that some of the kills had
live lamming for us. I went out and bought 21
of the best ones for 50ยข each. There were
several others too beaten up to live long.
