Code 1957 General Account 8 June - cont. 1415 landed at Half-Moon-Thorp. Met Tom Brewer, Jr. and wife. Looked over some low grassy awards - very extensive areas - much low center or flat-topped polygons. On the ground for 45+ min. Left the ward at 1705. Travelled toward Cape Backett and landed on a large lake near 70°45'N, 152°40'W, NE of Teshetput Lake. Looked around on some high center polygon tussock ground with much caribou range - lichens paved up all over. Vegetation plush. Took off from this lake at 1806 and flew N. to the coast, putting it ca 15 mi NW of Backett. We followed the coast back to Bassaw arriving at Smith Bay around 1849. Paced POCO at 1900. On the ground at Bassaw at 1925. In the Teshetput Lake area we saw a group of 3 caribou, our group of 3 and a cow with a calf. 9 June - Childs and I spent the day processing 200 lemmings from Wainwright and getting gear ready for the field. 10 June - Childs and I flew with Lorthout to Beaufort, via Wainwright, to look over the ground for a landing place and camp for Childs. Then we went back to Wainwright to cross the treep lines there. The following
