I. Cade 1956 Beveal Account 11 July Spent most of the day working over the weasel. Overhauled all the wheels and carriage. Changed oil and fueled her up. Battery had wound down, so I left the motor running for several hours to charge it up. Ben helped me change two bogies on the left side. One was broke while I was away. 12 July Spent the morning looking over an area West of ARL hut to establish a new transect and then set up the stakes and markers for it. This line runs through the area where I have trapped several M. mivicus and where their nests are very numerous. In the afternoon, some USGS people came in on a midgeon to establish a camp for a party of 10 which will be moving in in the next few days. They needed some help transporting their gear from the field - ahs from the lagoon where they have a Canav 180 or floats - and since I am using their weasel, I offered my help. In the late afternoon I set out traps on T5. Between stakes 800 & 900 & between 900 & 1000, there were 5 in stead of 4 20 foot markers!
