Cade 1956 General Account 11 June out to 1 foot of water or is still covered with snow. Stopped by at 1800 to have dinner with the Wien men and with the mechanic who had been here several days before me to fix the weasel for ABL. He finished this morning and turned the weasel over to me at noon. It seems to be in good working order. Started out at 1930, after dinner, to look for T-6. Nerv could locate any markers, but I am sure I found the right ones. Even found an old museum special along side the drainage ditch mentioned by Hansen. Apparently he did not mark this line. This notes do not indicate. This line is clear of snow with a little water present. It can be trapped any time. Also located T-8 and T-2. T-8 is marked with white sap tied to alder branches. Most of the ground is still covered with 6 inches to 2 feet of snow. T-2 is completely exposed with only a little standing water. It is a clearly marked line with iron posts and wooden stakes. Returned to camp at 2300, I am not sure yet, but my first impression is that the number of passerells and shore birds is considerably less than in 1953, with exception of yellow wagtail, gray-cheeked thrush, and semi-palmated sandpiper. But I have not looked much.
