"sensibly higher and flatter, it is without the forest crown of lower lands than the adjacent lower very rugged hills of the green mountains. On the Olmidan range we saw the good Cirque and many small patches of ice, dominating hanging glaciers. We saw some of these rocks, but slowly may guess it as diorite, serpentine etc. It has copper. A good deal of broody island has recently been under the sea as at certain places we saw head material above the Ordovician slate cliffs."
