August 16 Friday. Port au Choix. A strong wind Hurra-e day but otherwise the day is fine. At 8 A.M., we start for outer Port au Choix (the old French village) and then southward along the outer shore to Point Riche Light house and Macanmi station. Division I of Logan makes the southern shore of outer Port au Choix Bay and continues southward and for about one-half mile. The feds are heavy heddled may, li., and dol mills with some small froids. Macleni-do one sees often but otherwise fossils are scarce. The actual guest contact with the Chagz ore could not make out, and we concluded that it lay in the water near the Chagy cliff. About one half mile southward from outer Port au Choix over the basal member of the Chagy appears and is then continues all the way to Point Riche Light house. Gastur-fords are common but otherwise we saw little today of value. The upper Chagy division makes the light cliffs at the Light house and then the shore for about one mile towards Baya-monele. Then the lower Chagy comes in and continues to weather about one-half mile of Saya- monele. Here the contact with the Reedman form appears but again we were not able to locate the actual contact. In spite of the fact that they fossils collected all day are far den froids than many first visit. The windy-cold day was against us, and then we were looking only for fossil specimens. Nevertheless the ground does not appear to me as good today as it was in 1910.
