139 August 11-1918 Table Head section. Beeld mantum - Chazy contact. At the south edge of this core a big ledge runs out for 100 yards into the matrix at right angles from the core. On this clear exposed place the Beeld mantum - Chazy contact is shown. It is an erosin unconformity with irregularities about one foot deep. Below it the top of the Beeld mantum overthrusts smooth and very light colored; above it the base of the Chazy has its characteristic dark fluted grayed and overthrust rough and knotty. The top of the B. is may. li., and the base of the Chazy is apparently art. The section of the Chazy is as follows:- 3' Dark fluted gray heavy bed of li. that overthrus lightly. 2,6" Li. of the same color in two layers that overthrust smooth instead of knotty. The upper surface covered in places with a small fluff turned gastropod. Could not see good one. 4" Same colored li., overthrust then bedded and knotty. 8" Li., overthrusting smooth and beds with a conchoidal fracture Lepadiiia at the top. 100 Massive bedded fluted-gray li., that overthrus lightly and thrusts down into macadam. These beds are full of Chazy fossils at the base. Pajinurus frisca, Horistoma angustina, the compressed bryozoa Archaeocythis minyanae?, Helicostoma with ribs on base, Lawsmorus fridicus, Camarella. 6" Thin bedded, undulating and mottled layers. Any fur rose fossils.
