August 5-1918. Monday. Cow Head. A strong wind blew up during the night and at breakfast it is evi- dent that we are being up again for the day. To make one more effort something Dunton and Edwards go to Lone Head to gather chaggy fruit. We are now an entire crew at Cow Head, though our plans were only for a three or at most a four day stay. In the evening Dunton and E. returned with a small bag of fruit, Among them are 2 or 3 good Mr. pondrona. It is an interesting but hard fauna to fit. Dunton reports along the Parsons sandstone to the southeast of Lone Head that it does not show an actual contact. There is a coarse interval of 20 feet. The relation of the two masses is different in strike, the sandstone ranging in terms the limestone. This therefore shows faulted relations.
