July 9 - 1918. Duntan found a contact between the Forest Bellmantion and the Windsor atwr 1/4 miles east of the Catholic Church on the point ahead of Palau Park, shore of Bay St. George. The Bell- mantian here has a dip of 30° N. 33° W. and against it lies the Windsor green sandy shale dipping 10° S. 68° E. Over the western shore agains[t] the Windsor in deposits the Shales, decidedly conglomeritic and lays any way joins a foot rmeace worn of the Bellmantian embedded in the Windsor. He have two photos of the contact. Also a log range mine east to the Byssum at Romaines (2 miles) and in the far distance Indian Head 10 miles from one mine point. Another mine south east across the Bay St. George to Long Range 30 miles or so. West Sand cornul cliff, about 75. Total depth 1 cliff 100 feet Romaines gypsum 2 miles east If the Windsor dip is emtoward to Romaines Byssum then there were here about 1600 foot of strata beneath the gypsum. Yesterday we saw along the road side going up hill just north of Atkersons Cove some Windsor red conglomerate. Evident the road wall offing edge was a thin layer preserved in the dollars. The Windsor is then for everywhere a wall offing to- custom.
