pieces of unmetamorphosed [illegible] limestone
out of which I got a very few good things.
If one put in an entire day crawling away
here one might get a dozen or two of some
trilobite heads and gastropods. If I do
not go to Great Belle Isle tomorrow I will
do this. [I did so but after 2 hours saw only three small
mollusks]
The greenish shales just above Haleitt
state afforded him a payment of Paradoxides.
Unless the limestone is much out of place due
to the fault plane (it seemed to me today that
the limestone was undulatin as once as overlain
by the greenish shales) it is the youngest face
of the Lami Cambrie limestone of this region.
No other limestone gone hereabouts is like it. It
is not a nodular limestone. White, similar
to dark crystalline limestone.
