that I should probably get to Blanc Sablon before evening. We remained in our tents until
we got to Blanc Sablon.
Our ship arrived safely with two sick
men aboard at Cape Labrador at 2.30 P.M.
The harbor is an open one, open to the Straits
of Belle Isle, and fishing schooners have been
come in all the afternoon to anchor for the night.
This evening then must be ready to schooners
in the harbor.
After one boat had anchored Torchfield
and I made for the Labrador shore once to
girl off the Veronica and to rest. After running
about for an hour we made for Mr. Grant's
house, the agent of John Bros Fishing Establishment,
to see if he would take us in his
house for otherwise we would be unfit for
work. He was glad to do so and now
we are certain I don't mind comfortably.
Brenfels Strathcona came in later in
the afternoon and at tea we met the Deputy
Lieutenant Armstrong and his assistant Martin.
He is an Englishman primarily giving his services
to Brenfell for one year and returns to London
in September.
