April 18 - 1908. Saturday.
A day of great experiences.
A little after 9 A.M. called on Mr. Ridgway
to sign an authorization for him to examine
why Yale is not facing the bill of $1035. This
only go to the Government Printing Office and I
am to see him on Wednesday. From a document
that I have seen I am led to think that the litho-
grapher (it was or it being) has been paid a year
ago.
Then to see Baleott. Soon he explained
his position in regard to changing the meeting place
of the S.D.G. from New Haven to Baltimore.
As indicated by his letter to me some months more
ago his present just fear that the G.A.O.S. is
to be abandoned. I then gave him my history
and my information in regard to the S.D.G. ac-
cepting the Yale invitation. And finally that I
thought there was too much bowing to Chambaulis.
Also that he had made a mistake and that
he would deal it. He seemed to be deeply
