Left Pat Jerrin at 3.26, got to Greencourt on the Left and Hudson River R.R. at 4.33. Left here at 5.00 and got to Belvidere at 7.20. Put up at the small farm the American House. There are at least 3 other hotels.
As only Hamilton strata are exposed from Tristate to the Great Bend tract in railway and as it then runs on the line of strike of the Salina we get a distance of about 1/2 mile across the strike of the strata for the thickness of the beds. The dip will average 55?
This would give a thickness of about 1620 feet for all Salina and higher formations up to Hamilton, see Shiner and Dellen for actual thickness of beds south of Tristate and what in left will give approximately the thickness of the Salina.
Along the wagon road over Salina from the Shin Holler bridge to about 3d home a distance of a half mile or more. This may help further check up thickness of Salina.
