Transcript of Orroitt page Oriskany sandstone.- On the south side of Pond creek at Rosendale station of Bal Kill Valley R. R. may be seen a fault of the Oriskany, here it dips southwest and arm-holding upper. Here it is heavy bedded clearly marked white conglomeratic quartzite with occasional very thin shale partings. The conglomerate zones are irregular in distribution and of variable thickness; the pebbles well rounded and of thin quartz are in size up to one inch in diameter though the average is between three-eights and one-half inch. It is a marine shallow-water deposit laid down not many miles from the shore
