"The Eurypteri occur finally about the mid- thickness of the Sharon sand and to my great surprise we here came upon a feet slot 20 x 20 for the under side of which was completely crusted with Arthropycus harlani. This therefor shows that the Sharon sand is Medina and that Clarke and Reedemans Eurypteri are also of Medina age. These finds an accident within 2 feet from another, Garrell on a former trip measured the thickness for the Hudson- shales of to Eurypteri gone. It's fully 300 feet mine to the top of the quarry and going along the track towards Port Jours we came upon more Arthropycus that appear to be 500 feet higher. In other words Arthropycus ranges through at least 500 feet. These upper beds have more sandy green shales between the sandstone than in the quarry. Then for there is more iron (weather) and iron rust) in these beds so that the time waste in the Clinton.
