Above the Oreida the Penn. Luroy divides
the Medina as follows:-

would refer to the Salina as stated elsewhere.

I could not distinguish these differences.
The whole is a dominantly shale series with
thin and sometimes thick beds of shale that are
usually greenish or gray, and due to pressure, to
a silken yellow luster. Near the base are
some black shales and near the top appear
zones of red shales but to me these later are different
from those of the Salina.
The Oreida here is characterized by its
large fossils, averaging larger than any I saw
to the north east. The series is also thinner
and the Medina-Clinton is decidedly more highly
