Washington Oct 16-98 Left for Philadelphia at 12. 10 P.M. Steaming at the "Hanover" 12th and 13th struck on Sunday. Philadelphia Oct 17-98 Spent a good portion of the morning at Cramp's Ship Yards. Also saw the grave of Benjamin and Deborah Franklin. In the same region is also the house of Betsey Ross. I opened three books (Machum, Bell, U.S.A.) & the two reports of Fla. Thetman on 2nd at a second hand shop on on 13th I to their no 33 North. He also had Lewis Tertwy paper in prime condition on A $3.2 also the five Ann. Ref. of the Rgyne Gumby for 7.00 Went most of the afternoon at Philadelphia Museum Ass.
