Saw Mr Harris for two hours
and spoke generally of fossils
and paleontology. I stopped at
the Rand Hotel.
Oct. 18.
Met Mr Harris at 7.30 A.M.
and began at once to look over
his fine fossils. At ten o'clock
it was agreed that I should
take all of his star fishes for
study, the museum to pay all
expenses of publication. Harris to
be coauthor with C.D... In the
afternoon packed up all the
starfish 62 specimens into three
boxes and 2 postages.
In the morning Mr Harris
informed me that he
had made a will in which he
stipulated that the U.S. National
Museum had been given all of
his fossils as a donation, the
collection to be kept together.
