In other places this shale has been removed by the glacier since none about the rock is striated and worn by drift. In this shale I found nine dolatopirinae and the bygon remind of the Partidge Point one. This then prove that the Partidge Point beds also occur in Phelps quarry overlying the # Geerowlaya beds. It is below there that the spirifer grand- liferae beds of Thunder Bay more occur. The following is an ideal section: Oct. 9. A Partidge Point bed 13 feet B Partidge Point beds (variet) seen 5 feet. and Stromatopor Phelps quarry, Accumulation beds. These regular bedded about 7 ft thick; in the down it is not less than 20 feet thick. T. B. F. section for in line. Hiatuse not known. Probably but a few feet. C. Thunder Bay river shale beds and A. grandifera seen about 5 feet. This bedded limestone bed. In fossiliferous with shale partings seen about 7 feet. Prie.
