gone and not abundant. Purchased 1 horse a number of Pelczgspoda, Ceph. fishu alporpu and Dictyonema. Later got another Dictyonema of another part. My own collecting did not amount to much. Aug. 26. Collected at a place about 2 1/2 miles north-west of Le Roy where I found an abundance of Favosites and Liphyphyllum. Cyathophylloide are also abundant attached to rock but it is no easy matter to secure many good ones even by resorting to etching. Found also a fine Crinoid. All other fossils are very rare and always attached to thick rocks which dhatten to pieces in attempting to get them out. Have laid out probably enough to fill three barrels. The complex layers are below those of the Horsell quarry, in the chest layers or the lower half of
