The tip rock is used for building
purposes and all or much of the
dolomite is thrown away because of its soft nature. Much of
the batlulni is also thrown away, the
compact blue layers only being used
for cement of which they now turn
out about 50 barrels per day but
can make over 100 barrels each
day.
The Eurypteridae are not very
abundant and it is understood that
the one must turn in to the office
all found. Some however get away
one of which I purchased for $2.50
a fair specimen showing the perfect
anatomy. I found some Perediptia
alta and probably the little Orthithete
of Hall.
It is said that the elder Bennett
has the good Eurypteridae.
Aug. 18 Spent Sunday at Niagara Falls.
