desk and chairs and at about eleven the room was filled seating probably more than 120 people. On the elevated platform from left once seated the various Ministers of foreign countries while on the right once the officials of Mexico and the Tenth Legislative Congress. Onions in the center back for large table was seated President Diaz in a black Prince Albert. At a little after eleven we heard bugle calls and immediately in comes the President. All rise and remain standing. The President arrests first with some one on his left, and then a few time to the right and left but never a deep bow. As he passes one sees in him a man by no means old and frutula, He has a muddy face, large head, rather big of ad chin and square throat hat. His eyes are keen, snappy and fierce. His mouth is large firm with a tremendous jawful lower jaws. On his right and left are seated three gentlemen, one a general in full uniform. The President looks around to the manner and before him is a golden top tree. He from the top and at once there advances to the party.
