"strata found lower in the valley with the interstices filled in with adobe apparently over some underlying material. The first pyramid was built of the loose surface strata laid in the same adobe and at certain levels a new surface was made with plaster. More strata and adobe was laid on as to the top. Once the sides are are modelled and angle. They were dry though two may be nothing was found inside. The other pyramid (? a Terealli) was made of adobe and has more of an arch chisel in it, this is different construction from the other Aztec work. A cathedral is now building upon one of the five ruins and some of the material is taken out of the ruins. A sad commentary upon the catholic church. We return to the hotel we have dinner at 10, are star away in our emergency cars at 11. Around or Tulce at 3:30 and our train goes off. Guadalupe at Qaracaen at 5 p.m. The ruins of Mitla lie at the head of a narrow valley and are above the village.
