away for Orizaba & Tehuacan.
This tour had that we have missed seeing Puebla.
It is evidently one of the best types of Mexican cities.
From a number I saw the Cathedral and it was
curious. Often in the street any widow could
be seen the best class of Mexican ladies. The
curtain linen held outside of the window are
fresh furnishing those of the home to stand behind.
We again see much of the empire made
limestone called by the English architect, Aguillon
calls it Travertine. Much of Tehuacan we
see much of this Travertine in the walls are
in the hills sides.
The scenery seen today has been of the grandest
type but we are rushing through the country too
fast to appreciate the meaning I saw the geological
gardens. Everywhere one sees Magnez for pulque
and mescal purposes showing to what extent these
drinks are drunk in Mexico. Aguillon says
the yield is about $7.00 per acre and the corn
costs about 1.00. It is one of the most profitable
