Hole 39 (continued) 35'8" 40'10" 5'2" laminate locally intersecting light gray medium to fine grained sandstone with streaks and laminae of darker, fine grained sand- stone and large inclus- ions of lithology of above interval showing contortion of siltstone + sandy laminae. Minor carbonaceous partings thereout. 40'10" 46' 5'2" Light gray medium to fine grained sandstone. Uniform, micaceous. 2 zones showing laminae of darker fine grained sandstone from 43'6" to 44'7" and from 45'to 45'5" 46' 50'10" 4'10" light gray medium grained micaceous sandstone with occasional inclusions of solitary angular shale fragments. These of dark sandy-silty shale. 50'10" 62'2" 11'4" Chiefly gray sandstone, scattered streaks dark fine grained sandstone + silty shale, zones of shell clay fragments, coaly streaks + partings in basal 4 feet. 62'2" 62'8" 6" Black shale, upper 2" slaty' 62'8" 72'5" 9'9" Dark gray to (locally) black shale, silty from 65'5" 72'5" 73'10" 1'5" Black shale
