Zone of silty shale pellets at 53'; minor coaly partings 54' to 63'6" 63'6" 69' 5'6" Dark gray, locally black, silty shale with zones and streaks of fine sandstone. Mercer or shaley zone or Homewood 69' 78'6" 9'6" Light gray medium grained micaceous sandstone, minor carbonaceous partings. Homewood or sandstone loose in Mercer 78'6" 80'4" 1'10" * Medium grained light gray to gray sandstone shot thru with coaly streaks, seams and inclusions of black coaly shale. 80'4" 81'6" 1'2" Hard block shale, some plant fragments. Mercer 81'6" 81'10" 4" Gray to dark gray slicked' clay, semi-hard. 81'10" 83'10" 2' Coal and coaly shale (at least 18" coal, some shaley seams.) Mercer Coal 83'10" 93'6" 9'8" Hard clay (2 foot core loss in this interval, may be from top block or redictic block, couldlist be other types. Also a bare Mercer Clay (* 1 foot core loss in run 79-1 to 84-1 split between this interval and coal below.)
