Clarion s.s. ? 12'4" 13'2" 10" Brown-gray shaley fine grained sandstone, micaceous with specs of carbonaceous material; grades into soft clay blue-gray clay shale. about 5" of each. Clarion sh. ? 13'2" 23'10" 10'8" Light gray sandstone, medium to fine grained (pred. med-gr.), micaceous, hard with Fe speckled stain (if fresh would probably have greenish cast). Coaly streaks lower 2½'. Dark gray fine grained shaley carbonaceous micaceou sandstone with medium grained gray sandstone with coaly streaks in lower 5". Home wood S.S. 23'10" 25'2" 1'4" Gray medium grained micaceous sandstone. carbonaceous streaks and partings chiefly in upper 1½' and lower 1'. 33' 38'5" 5'15" Gray to dark gray silty shale. Lower 1' (or more) a non-silty clay gray clay shale. Mercer Shale 38'5" 45'11" 7'6" Hard clay as follows:-
