Clays, Hole 19 (367-6 to 371-6) Mottled gray red and green semi-hard to subplastic clay. Rare streaks of finely fragmental clay. This is the "Meyersdale" red tool of Swarts, etc. (GC 191) Red clay (GC 192) shows fragmental streaks - Analysis # 26 (Total 4' smear) (2) (470 to 472-2) Fragmental claystone and shaley clay and claystone. 7" Fragmental shaley clay and claystone carbonaceous at top (1"+) 19" Fragmental claystone. Tan green gray fragments in unifom light gray matrix. Matrix becomes greish downward. Fragments fined to coarse fine below. (GC 193) (Upper 7"- shaly material) (GC 194) (GC 195)} lower 19", top, middle+ base. (GC 196) Note that matrix approaches good flint. Analysis # 27 (470 to 472) This is probably Piedmont clay. (3) (516-1 to 520-3 Pinalula, Bolivia - Detail fragmental shaley 9"- Tan silty claystone and silt hard clay with some streaks siltstone. coarser areas pyritic. (GC 197) 32
