Clayp - Hole 1/6 (659-4 to 655:10) Mixed slean - Carbonaceous to gray, loastard clay (GC167), for 4"", then about 1 foot of hard clay (G-C168), silty dark claystone, then grades to claystone (GC169) (787-7 to 792-9) Mixed seaut- Dark gray somewhat loastard clay to 788-6 Semihard clay and claystone, to 792-9 << includes good ton Semihard (GC1610) but fragmental claystone (GC1611) preolmineta. Interval 788-6 to 792-9 = Analysis #24 Other:- (544-7 to 547-7) (GC161) A semihard clay with iron fracture fillings, part of odd concentric Fe concretion. Clay suggests reworking in soft state. (605-3 to 608-9) Samples of types of claystone interbedded with limestone. None of claystones react to dilute HCl. (GC162) This type is siliceous claystone, gray with mottled dark areas. Probably reworked in soft state, shows gypsum on partings. (GC 163) Fragmental siliceous claystone in matrix of Limestone? . This sedies below limestones of interval and is gradational into silty claystone below. (731-6 to 733-9) Silaceous to finely siltily claystone, Fe blobs + streaks. Evidence of reworking + interexistence of several types while soft. Contains inclusions (small area.) of calcareous material. Lattor increases upward an interval. (GC164) (815-6 to 816) A dirty fragmental flint clay) specimen (GC 165) is complete seam. Crooks upward, sharp contact at base. (over) 23
