94. Altitude on sandstone N 20° E, 8° E 95. Old Bender and Beachy mine on former C.H. Bill farm. Abandoned & caved. Probably Upper Kittanning. Coal reported to be about 2 feet. 96. Old prospect pit, now site of outhouse. 97. Abandoned but partially open mine. Opened by Hersker and called "Shade No.1". Bill Miller ("Lyin' Bill") reports following section: Sandstone Draw slate —— 6 ft. Coal —— 23 to 25 Shale —— 1 Boney coal —— 2 to 4 Hard sandy clay — 1 to 1½ ft Believed's under bottom clay.
