49. 50. 51 Quarry in ledge of massive sandstone. May be ss. overlying Mt. Savage. 52. Road cut showing about 10" coal with band & shale partings overlain by black shale and underlain by weathered (limonitic) clay and silty clystone. Altitude (est.) N 85° E, 6° N. On N end of cut coal seems to flatten out & there may be slight reversal of dip. 53 Sandstone channel on black shale in roadcut just s around curve. This ss is basal part of predominantly clastic section to top of hill.- Basal ss 16-20' Soft beds - obscured - 10'± Sandstone - 10-15' shaly claystone + siltstone with sandy zones + lenses 15-20'
