Mined down dip. 37 Exposure of Brush Creek shale in road cut, S side U.S. 40 just above Stone House. Marine fossils scarce except in (Altitude: N 63°E, 7°W) lower part. 38 Coal crop in road gutter, most likely Lower Bakerstown. 39 Coal crop in road gutter, probably Lower Bakerstown. 40 S An old opening and recent prospect in the Harlem coal. Merrbach said to have opened old one - not much taken out. Sam Yoder had new prospect opened. Merrbach 41 s Meadow Mountain Mine. Entry on slope to Upper Kitchanning from lower (west) end of old Stone House stripping. There used to be several old adits up hill from this mine before stripping was started. Trace of these destroyed by stripping. They were down dip in Upper Kitchanning.
