At intersection there is considerable amount of fine shards of flint clay in surficial material May be from #44 above. 18. Outcrop of sandy shales and siltstones. Attitude N 37° E, 15 NW. Seep to west down road may indicate position of coal. 19. Pit and bulldozer gouge into outcrop of coal and flint clay. Coal overlain by heavy sandstone. Flint clay good. 2' +. in strip, pit water filled. Middle upper Rittanning horizon.
