dolomite on the blue slate mount [illegible] dolomite. Dome not knowing the patrol would come sus- p[unclear]ect here between dolomites that this bedding like plane in the fault surface of the foot St. Lawrence = Logan or thrust fault. The plane of this thrust is here hardly more than 20 degrees. Further more there is no further deformation of either dolomite, nor did I notice any [illegible] crossing. The Brindwell dolomite in [unclear] at least 150 [illegible] feet thick and then maybe 200 feet of it. No Mount Real quartzite is present. He then drove rapidly out to the main road and thence 8 miles to Orwell, and 17 more to Burlington, and thence 6 miles more east to Essex Junction. Put up at a good country hotel the Lincoln Inn. It rained much during the night.
