The Oridang is given as [illegible] feet thick with no mention of the Beerift. As a good long area is found between the Oridang in place and the New Zealand chert it is impossible to give the exact thickness of the latter. Then too to say that no Beerift here cannot be said from the railway cut, but if he has seen contact on the hill side all may be correct.
The New Zealand is given as 12 feet thick
The Cregmans as 8 feet thick
The Begean as 272 feet.
Looking across from Burt Cacapon station one sees a major road on the hill side cutting the beds more clearly than below on the railway. Here it appears [illegible] as if the Oridang lies adjacent to the Beerift. But doubt about this contact and the greater thickness of the Oridang (the Lower Oridang is no longer apparently.
