"by some votes, The whole affair was said To have been engineered by Cattell against Bolbert on the ground that dark skin men should not dominate the Academy. It is now the greatest mistake the academy has ever made as will be seen later. The vote then was on Vice President and for cause are some given to Antoine Bolbert. He at once withdrew and consent. Then Remsen got in his hat and make a fine speech for Bolbert and he found that he could not withdraw. A speech of or force because it was two votes. Bolbert did not withdraw and he was for cause elected but if anyone supposes that he will do the progressive work of the Academy they do not think Bolbert. If I were in his place I would not even have allowed the Academy to vote me in as Vice President. Day was elected in place of Wayne who wanted to withdraw. Day will make a fine secretary but in fact he will not have the support. Cattell is no long on the Council, a good evidence,
