for the clay shale series is much mud over worked so that are appear to be deposits of mud let over while the sea spread for time in time. This zone has the Cement series. A little east of Chiles & opposite Sir Johns about Rum on the B.C.R. some thin bedded quartz its in places a conglomerate appear and beneath them shales that have Clinton formits. The regular Clinton strata is here much larger than usual. Also saw the regular (narrow flims and branching) Orthothecis, and Rhizidomella (see if circularis) in the sandstone a Leptocodium resembling a small L. planocomum. Farther east at the Cement Mill at the top of Round Top can be seen the Lower Salina split almost every layer very cracked except the marble as it was used for cement. Here also is nicely exposed above the Canal road and again beards the Western Maryland track or fine folded and an anticline a just lost if it a syncline fold. Thus:- Red bed Red bed Cement layers.
