Washington Saturday July 6-1907.
Visited the U.S.N.M. War Series at
Rathbun and Stegner, in the afternoon
visited Great Falls.
The upper broads valley of Great Falls
is very plain above the Falls. The new page
is sharp and angular. The river sand
seen here is coarse, and unassorted, dirty
and of very varied signs. This nature we
like the Patuxent sand seen on Thursday.
In the evening called at the Cosmos Club
and met Lindgren.

July 7-1907 Sunday.
Left Washington at 9.10 A.M. and arrived
at Harpers Ferry a little before eleven. Then
climbed the [illegible] Virginia Heights and had a
grand view of the Gap. The Potomac cuts
directly across the strilly of the Blue Ridge at
Harpers Ferry. Then the Eastern Branch comes
in and the Potomac diverts more to east and
cuts North out at a considerable angle.
