Camden, Tenn.
Best Ovidian locality just on the out-
skirts of the village. To the west of the village
I secured nothing, or little.
The chest is from 12-15 feet thick, overlain
by shale 6-7 feet thick. Is this the Bloem shale?
At the top is a 2 inch limonite band.
Above this loose sand = Hardin? Ovidian sec. to
Frontier. Forster gives the Camden here as 60'
Heldrbug near Camden. South.
One locality is near Chaseville on
Wolf Creek up stream from the wagon road
going from Chaseville to Holladays. About
six exposures in a quarter mile from
the road. Thickness about 20-25'
Overlain by Camden chest, out croped
only saw broken chest.
Between 4-5 miles N.-E of Holladays
towards Camden along side the road are
two fine localities of Heldrubejian, 35' shown. Lowest beds have Michelinia and
Favosites Bryozoa higher up. Phacops
from upper portion.
Forster gives this locality as 5 miles north
of Big Sandy Station on the Lower Camden road.
