Aug. 10, 1923, Friday Castleton to St Altaus. First collected in the New Redden Loran Cambrian limestone at West Castleton near Lake Bromseem. Took nothing away because I got little of value. Raymond collected some Eodiscus species, Hyolithellus. In one lignite got considerable papretay trilobites that appear to be of Mesomaein, and Ptychous. He will let me know what the origin of those. We than arail mott and before setting to Hyde Mann came upon the slaty Trenton li. That the extends north beyond Ludhington. Saw no recognizable fossils. The Trenton, Chazy and Bed mantown series continues north by Middle- lying to at 3 1/2 mile north of New Genres where occurs (Middle Chazy). Took nothing from any of those places. Then stopped at Jones Hill and looked again at the Armotom and quartzite and took away a few specimens. Lorn-cracked, rain pits and rippled. Then looked at the lighter colored Dinosotti dol. out to of the red Arnoton a little further,
