Berkeley, Friday Feb 25. Prepared most of the day to give a lecture this afternoon on Astrographic Maps are made. The day is dark but without rain. At 4 P. M. gave the lecture to about 40 men (2 ladies). Went to the omnis after supper. Berkeley, Saturday Feb 26. A cold clear sunny morning. The first fine day in two weeks. Wind north. Got my railway ticket and then went up in the Camperdille to see one more to environs of San Francisco - Oakland- Berkeley. A vast field of houses around a very shallow bay - a diamond naturally. cut through to a number of large and active fuel towns. The people are offi-[illegible] -ory on my automatic army, but one that comes twice or three in a lifetime.
