east of Tijuana the out of us show distinct sea cut cliffs one here after another rising inland. The coastal shelf appeared to me my manner. From Yuma it is 220 miles to San Diego -- across the Imperial Valley and the Mts -- extensions of the Sierra Nevada. Put up at Hotel Maryland. Came out to the California Building in Balboa Park to see the Ogles Library. The lady Librarian - a college graduate - showed me the three large alcoves, and to choose I go to model. Just how complete the library is in regard to West Coast geology did not get clear. The Librarian is Mrs Barlow. Looking E. from Balboa Park one sees far to the E. high hills far far in the S.(Mexico) to far in the N. The cuts that formed on the San Diego-Arizona R.R. are the same cuts. All in in peats, there is no flat dry-line.
