long lecture in the evening to be given Mr. Daw- son Geological Club. The meeting was held at Mr Kidd's home and later tea and lunch was served. Present about 20 young men and one girl, all undergraduates interested in geology. S.H. failed to be there at 11 P.M. The first sunny day in a long time. The day is cool and during the early morning it sleeted. The Coast Range stood out majestically, all shining with fresh snow. S.H. to see the highest ever - Crown Peak to the south of Capilano Canyon but the top was usually screened in clouds. The Fraser River and estuary separates the various parts of Vancouver, and on both banks there are once preserved terraces, one continuing in- calves plane that to the east rises to over 600 feet. The environment of Vancouver on sunny days is fascinating with its scenery. Had my R.R. ticket extended one day. Also saw the tops/peaks directly North of Vancouver crowned by clipping the Guarding Lions of Vancouver.
