Left Dayton at 4 P.M. via trolley to Franklin then changed ours to Dayton. Arrived at about 6 P.M. Stopping at Bechel Hotel on Third street. Dayton Ohio Sep-21 Thursday. Arrived in the morning. Spent the morning at the National Soldiers Home. The old quarry here is so changed that hardly could find it. Got nothing. In the afternoon went over five miles to a quarry that proved to be in the Niagaraian. Got a few Penta- murus Magnos. Then walked back to the Nat. Soldiers Home ground to the south east side of it (beside the Sergeant Major's pile?) and on the edge of Silenium cresta of the Miami valley found a small road metal quarry in the Bransfield and got a lot of fossils. Will go back to it again tomorrow morning. 3426 37 C. E. Bratten R.F. 10, 15 Dayton O Local Collectors, Live near this quarry,
