Watutown Sep. 6 - Wednesday. Spent morning chiefly about Watutown and at noon went to Clayton over the Thousand Islands (then in 1892). Set back at two o'clock. At Clayton there is still bedded rock on the islands. Here the strata are from bedded sandstone resting on joint granite. What age is cannot determined from the Thousand Islands report. Five miles out in themost all in granite. Watutown Sep. 7, Thursday. Left at 12:10 P.M. to Clayton to take the steamer for Toronto. Write Emma that should be at Phila Sunday 17. At Hamilton, Ontario Sep. '92. Had an hour at Clayton on the shore of Lake Ontario to see the basal strata on the granite. Thin and thick bedded free grained clear washed
