A - 139 - Kemayang <5-6>
Fruits and [illegible] leaves good for eating. Trunk
gets to 50cm wide. Tree 8m 30cm with
both branch smooth, stalk smooth yellow,
strong smell of onion. Yellow sap?
Rp500 one tree. "Ambition" people plant it.
2-3 trees per 10 families
Fresh spiral, flat except where seeds are. Very
poor. Fell by SBK for food.
Fresh green, ripening yellow seeds/brown
5 yrs to fruiting. Good for eating.
Only 1 type. Other types by river less good,
but still good for eating and good as soap.
On slopes and hill sides, near by rivers.
A - 140 - Tekuai - Du'an - buah merah
bij i red, air yellow (dark). 4 carpels apparently.
More popular than du'an. Planted - every family
has one Rp500 for a good fruit. More expensive
than du'an. Sold to other villages or camp.
{<} Often found in forest (fruit it) every other
Du'an. Usually once, and often twice per year.
Up to 1000 fruits per tree, at least 100-200
Get 'big'. Usually near to top a bit of
slope. Rarely battered, red/red sugar finished
trees 15m, 25cm d/bh. Stuck out, broadish.
