All the Hamilton fossils from the Louisville region come from above the Light Blue cement rock. The horizon furnishing nearly all the regular Hamilton species is the 3 foot zone of dark cement rock. It is the zone that weathers so easily as a dark brown earth covered with the numerous sponge like pieces of cherty chert and an abundance of D. crumii, D. subtruncatus, Trochidites etc. See my gathering for this zone.
The next lighter zone furnishes other fossils as corals below, and crinoids above. See my gathering.
Collected my first Hamilton material in the Ohio Co. Cement quarry.
Spent this evening (the third) at Lyms house.
